Major Drug Bust in Saharanpur

In a significant operation, law enforcement in Saharanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, apprehended a drug trafficker on Sunday, recovering 503 grams of smack from his possession. This information was confirmed by a police official.


According to police reports, the seized smack is estimated to be worth approximately 50 lakh rupees in the international market.


Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain informed that the Gangoh police arrested the suspect near the Hamjagadh village, close to the Chaina Chowk on the road leading to Hamjagadh.


Alongside the smack, authorities also confiscated 1,200 rupees in cash, two mobile phones, and a motorcycle from the accused. Jain stated that investigations are underway to trace the source of the narcotics and the locations where the suspect was supplying them.


The police reiterated that the estimated value of the seized drugs in the international market stands at around 50 lakh rupees. A case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further legal actions are being pursued.
