Police Rescue Two Women from Human Trafficking in Delhi

Rescue Operation in GB Road Area

In a significant operation, law enforcement officials in Delhi's GB Road area successfully rescued two women from a brothel identified as number 58. According to police reports, these women were lured to the city under the pretense of job opportunities, only to be allegedly forced into sex work. Authorities have arrested three women in connection with this case and have initiated an investigation into the suspected human trafficking network.

Allegations of Deceptive Job Offers

One of the rescued women, a 26-year-old from West Bengal, had been missing since May 2026. On August 25, she managed to contact her mother, revealing her location at GB Road's brothel number 58 and requesting assistance to escape.

She informed the police that a young man at the railway station had promised her a job. However, upon arriving in Delhi, her mobile phone was confiscated, and she was handed over to a woman managing the brothel.

Another Woman Shares Her Story

During the operation, authorities also found a second woman, aged 28. She recounted that she had left home two years ago due to family disputes, taking her eight-year-old son with her. A woman had offered her help and brought her along.

The woman alleged that she was taken to Delhi and brought to the same brothel under the guise of a cleaning job, only to be coerced into prostitution.

Concerns for the Child

The second woman claimed that she was threatened with harm to her son if she resisted. She also mentioned that her child was later sent to a hostel, with limited visitation rights.

The police are now investigating the safe recovery of the child and the circumstances surrounding the case, considering this aspect crucial.

Arrests Made

Authorities have apprehended three individuals named Geeta, Manju, and Paro Khatun, believed to be involved in managing the brothel and the trafficking network. Investigations revealed that all three had previously faced charges related to human trafficking and the exploitation of women.

Evidence Collected

During the raid, police seized ₹55,000 in cash, tokens, a register, and an electricity bill. Investigative agencies are analyzing these items for insights into financial transactions and the operation of the brothel.

Both women underwent medical examinations and counseling, with their statements recorded to initiate further legal proceedings.

Ongoing Investigation

The Kamla Market police are actively working to identify additional individuals involved in bringing the women to Delhi and facilitating their entry into the brothel. They are also probing the roles of potential accomplices and absconding suspects.

Cases have been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITP Act).

The police investigation is ongoing, with a focus on uncovering the full extent of the alleged human trafficking network and providing necessary support to the victims.
