Arrest of Police Sub-Inspector in Pratapgarh

A police sub-inspector stationed at the Maheshganj police station in Pratapgarh district was apprehended on Wednesday for allegedly soliciting a bribe, as confirmed by officials.


Superintendent of Police Dr. Anil Kumar reported that a case had been filed against the complainant, Rinku Pushpakar, which was under investigation by Sub-Inspector Jitendra Singh.


According to the report, Singh allegedly demanded money to remove the complainant's name from the case, and audio/video evidence of this demand came to light. Following an investigation, Singh was suspended and departmental action was initiated.


The Maheshganj police registered a case against Jitendra Singh under the Prevention of Corruption Act based on the complaint filed by Rinku Pushpakar. Station Officer Mukesh Kumar Singh, along with police personnel, successfully arrested the accused Jitendra Singh.
