Police Encounter Claims Lives of Gang-Linked Shooters in Haryana
Police Operation Leads to Fatal Encounter
Chandigarh/New Delhi: In a significant police operation, two suspected shooters associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi-Harry Boxer gang were killed during an encounter in Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar district, as confirmed by officials on Sunday.
The operation, executed by a collaborative team from the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF), took place late Saturday night.
According to reports, the shooters, identified as Parvesh and Himanshu, opened fire on the police when they were intercepted. The police returned fire, resulting in injuries to the suspects, who were later pronounced dead at the hospital.
During the encounter, Constable Ankit from the Special Cell suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Mayank Mishra stated that the shooters were intercepted after receiving a tip-off just past midnight.
The Haryana Police had previously announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of each suspect in connection with the murder of gym owner Kapil in Hansi on June 11.
Kapil was shot while conducting an outdoor exercise session with a small group, and a CCTV recording of the incident circulated widely on social media.
Investigations revealed that the murder was allegedly orchestrated by Parvesh and Himanshu, both from Hisar district, under the direction of a crime syndicate led by Hariram, also known as Harry Boxer, and Anil Pandit, linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The Special Cell noted that the two were also wanted for a shooting incident outside singer Guru Randhawa's gym in West Delhi.
Police intelligence indicated that the armed suspects were in Bahadurgarh, planning a serious crime.
Following this intelligence, the Special Cell and Haryana STF initiated an operation, locating the suspects near Balor in Bahadurgarh. When ordered to surrender, the suspects allegedly fired at the police, prompting a defensive response.
During the encounter, bullets hit the bulletproof vests of four officers, preventing serious injuries, as reported by Haryana Police.
Both suspects were critically injured and transported to a hospital, where they were declared dead.
Senior Haryana Police officials, along with forensic teams, examined the scene of the encounter. A separate case has been filed at the Sadar police station in Bahadurgarh regarding the gunfight.
This operation followed the earlier arrest of two other alleged gang members, Hakikat alias Sahil and Sagar, who were apprehended after a shootout with the Special Cell on June 25. They are currently in custody for their involvement in the shooting outside Guru Randhawa's gym.
Interrogation of these two suspects provided leads related to the Hansi murder, prompting investigators to utilize human, technical, and electronic intelligence to locate Parvesh and Himanshu.
The Special Cell has initiated a case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) to delve into the financial and logistical operations of the Harry Boxer-Anil Pandit crime syndicate and to pursue legal actions against fugitive gang leaders.
Haryana's Director General of Police, Ajay Singhal, emphasized the state's commitment to taking decisive action against organized crime and gangster networks that threaten the rule of law.
