Police Capture Two Criminals in Separate Encounters in Ballia

Police Operations Lead to Arrests

In Ballia, law enforcement officials apprehended two criminals following two distinct encounters. An officer provided this update on Wednesday. During the confrontations, both suspects sustained injuries from gunfire to their legs.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kripa Shankar, the city police attempted to stop three suspicious individuals riding a motorcycle at Jagannath Tiraaha shortly after midnight on Tuesday. However, the suspects attempted to flee.

The officer explained that as the police set up a perimeter, the criminals opened fire, resulting in one suspect being shot in the leg, while two others managed to escape. The arrested individual has been identified as Ravi Prakash Pandey, also known as Rohit Pandey, who is currently receiving treatment at the district hospital.

Efforts are ongoing to capture the two fugitives, identified as Ashutosh Yadav and Ashu Yadav. In a separate incident, the ASP reported that police stopped two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle near Maldepur Tiraaha early Wednesday morning, but they sped away towards Green Field from Maldepur Mor.

As the police pursued them, the suspects fired at the officers when they realized they were cornered. In the ensuing exchange, one suspect was shot in the left leg, while another escaped. The apprehended suspect has been identified as Mukesh Kumar Singh, also known as Anshu Singh or Rudra Singh, who has been admitted to the district hospital. Efforts are underway to locate his accomplice, Rohit Verma, also known as Saral. Authorities have noted that the suspects have multiple attempted murder charges against them.
