Police Arrest 50 in Violence Against MP's Visit in Isota Village
Violence Erupts Over MP's Visit
In response to the disruption of MP Chandrashekhar Azad's visit to a village in the Karachna tehsil, law enforcement has detained 50 individuals linked to the vandalism carried out by party activists.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vivek Chandra Yadav reported that the arrests stem from stone-pelting and vandalism incidents near Isota village, with efforts ongoing to identify additional suspects. Legal action has been initiated against these individuals under stringent charges.
Yadav further indicated that the National Security Act (NSA) would be invoked against those involved, and measures will be taken to recover damages incurred during the unrest.
On Sunday, a large gathering of party supporters had assembled in anticipation of MP Chandrashekhar's arrival in Isota village. However, upon learning that their leader would not be attending, the crowd began to throw stones.
The mob caused damage to a police vehicle and another car during the chaos.
It is important to note that a local resident named Deveshankar died from burns on April 13, with family members alleging he was murdered by being set on fire. MP Chandrashekhar was en route to meet the grieving family when police halted his progress to Isota village for safety reasons.
