Police Activity Causes Traffic Disruptions Near Boise
Active Law Enforcement Incident in Meridian
A significant police presence was observed near I-84 and Ten Mile in Meridian, close to Boise, due to an ongoing law enforcement situation that led to road closures and traffic issues. The Nampa police department announced that eastbound lanes on I-84 were blocked at Exit 38 (Garrity) as officers collaborated with partner agencies. Motorists were advised to anticipate delays and to steer clear of the area while the incident was being managed.
Initial reports indicated that a man allegedly discharged a firearm at his wife and child inside a Walmart before fleeing the location in his car. Fortunately, both victims were reported to be physically unharmed. Authorities later confirmed that the situation was being resolved, and Garrity was set to reopen, although traffic congestion and delays were likely to persist as the area cleared.
