'Love jihad' is a controversial theory propagated by some Hindutva groups, suggesting that Muslim men deceive Hindu women into romantic relationships to facilitate their conversion to Islam. The Indian government has clarified that current laws do not recognize this term.
Legal Actions Taken
On Sunday, police filed charges against the two identified individuals and several others under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which include causing bodily harm, trespassing, and inciting public disorder.
Earlier in the day, law enforcement stated that they found no illegal activities occurring at the café and took preventive measures against those involved under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
