PM Modi's Varanasi Visit: Roadshow and Ganga Expressway Inauguration
PM Modi's Roadshow in Varanasi
On the second day of his two-day visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. He made his way to the temple via a roadshow starting from BAREKA, where he was warmly welcomed by BJP leaders and supporters who showered him with flowers. Throughout the journey, he was honored at six different locations, and the atmosphere in the city was vibrant with the sounds of drums and conch shells.
Inauguration of the Ganga Expressway
Today, the inauguration of the Ganga Expressway by Prime Minister Modi marks a significant milestone in the development of infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. Stretching 594 kilometers from Meerut to Prayagraj, this expressway is the longest in the state, connecting 12 districts across the western, central, and eastern regions. It is expected to significantly reduce travel time and enhance connectivity with Delhi-NCR.
Impact on Prayagraj
The expressway is set to be transformative for Prayagraj, a key religious and cultural hub. The city hosts major events like the Kumbh Mela and Magh Mela, attracting large crowds. Improved road connectivity is anticipated to increase tourist numbers and promote road travel, drawing attention to lesser-known sites along the route and boosting rural tourism.
