PM Modi to Boost BJP Campaign in Assam Ahead of Assembly Elections
Modi's Upcoming Visit to Assam
Biswanath, Mar 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up to amplify the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) campaign in Assam with a significant visit as the election season for the Assembly polls on April 9 reaches its climax.
Modi is anticipated to land in Guwahati on Tuesday night and will head to Biswanath district on Wednesday, where he plans to hold a major public rally at Kulaguri field in Bihali.
This rally aims to engage voters from three pivotal constituencies: Biswanath, Behali, and Gohpur, marking a vital moment in the BJP's campaign efforts in the state.
Preparations for the event are nearing completion, with efforts underway to host a large audience. Initially, attendance was estimated at around 40,000, but party officials now predict that between 60,000 and 70,000 people will show up.
Diganta Ghatowal, the sitting MLA of Behali, expressed optimism regarding the public's response, noting the palpable excitement leading up to the Prime Minister's visit.
“Prime Minister Modi will be campaigning for the Behali, Biswanath, and Gohpur constituencies tomorrow. The enthusiasm among the people is immense, and we are fully prepared to welcome him,” he stated.
Ghatowal mentioned that Modi is expected to arrive around 1 PM and will address another gathering at Gogamukh before heading to Bihali.
“We anticipate a turnout of approximately 60,000 to 70,000 attendees,” he confirmed.
Party insiders believe that this rally will be instrumental in energizing party workers and solidifying support in the area, with Modi's presence likely to enhance the BJP's electoral chances.
In preparation for the visit, security measures have been intensified throughout Biswanath district.
Multiple layers of security are being coordinated between state police and central agencies to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.
