PM Modi to Address NDA Rally in Tiruchirappalli on March 11
Prime Minister's Upcoming Rally Announcement
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he will be addressing a joint rally of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tiruchirappalli on March 11. He noted that the people of Tamil Nadu are aligning with the NDA's agenda of hope and progress, recognizing the DMK's misgovernance and unfulfilled promises. In his post, he mentioned that the DMK is evidently anxious about the growing popularity of the NDA across the state.
Details of the Rally and Development Projects
In his announcement, PM Modi stated that he will join NDA leaders in Tiruchirappalli around 6:30 PM on March 11. Alongside addressing the rally, he will inaugurate several development projects worth approximately ₹5,650 crores, dedicating them to the nation, laying foundation stones, and flagging off initiatives. These projects will span key sectors including petroleum and natural gas infrastructure, lubricant manufacturing, rural connectivity, highway development, and railway services.
Investments in the Petroleum Sector
In the petroleum sector, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation for a city gas distribution network developed by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, involving an investment of over ₹3,680 crores in the Nilgiris and Erode districts. This initiative will provide PNG connections to more than 880,000 households, supply gas to over 200 commercial establishments, and establish more than 201 CNG stations. Additionally, he will dedicate a lubricant blending plant of Indian Oil Corporation in Manali, Chennai, which has been developed with an investment of around ₹1,490 crores, enhancing India's lubricant manufacturing capacity.
Rural Road Development and Rail Connectivity
Under the Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana, he will inaugurate 89 rural roads spanning 370 kilometers in Tamil Nadu, significantly improving access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities in rural areas. Furthermore, he will lay the foundation for a greenfield bypass near Gangai Konda Cholapuram on NH-81. The Prime Minister will also flag off two Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train service, enhancing rail connectivity between Tamil Nadu and other regions including Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and Eastern India, benefiting travelers and promoting regional economic growth.
