INSV Kaudinya Sets Sail for Oman

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a photograph of the crew aboard the wooden vessel INS Kaudinya, which has set off from Porbandar, Gujarat, heading towards Oman.


In his post on 'X', Modi expressed his delight at receiving the image of the ship's crew, stating, “I am very happy to receive this picture from the team of INS Kaudinya! Their enthusiasm brings peace to my heart.”


The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to the crew of INS Kaudinya as they embark on their journey, hoping that their travels will be filled with joy and success as they approach 2026.


INSV Kaudinya was flagged off from Porbandar on Monday by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.


Oman's Ambassador to India, Isa Saleh Al Shibani, was also present at the event. According to the Ministry of Defence, this vessel is inspired by ancient Indian ship designs and is constructed using traditional stitching techniques and wood.
