PM Modi Promises BJP Victory in West Bengal Amidst Criticism of TMC
Modi's Assurance to Bengal Residents
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured the people of West Bengal that the BJP will come to power in the state this time. While addressing a rally in Arambagh, he stated that the pride of the TMC was shattered in the first phase, and he is confident that the BJP will form the government in the second phase. Modi launched a strong critique against the Mamata Banerjee-led government, claiming that the corruption and failures of the TMC administration have pushed the populace to the brink. He emphasized that the resolve to remove the current government is now stronger than ever.
He pointed out that areas around the Hooghly River were once known for their mills and factories, but now, news of 'lockout' notices from these mills is more common. Many factories, some of which have been operational since the British era, are now shutting down.
Targeting the TMC Government in Bongaon
Earlier, during a rally in Bongaon, the Prime Minister accused the current regime of allowing low-level leaders and goons to act as if they are in power. He remarked that this reflects a breakdown of governance and accountability in the state. Modi also questioned the TMC's foundational slogan of 'Maa, Mati, Manush,' stating that the party no longer adheres to these ideals as its actions contradict them. He accused the government of failing on all fronts, claiming that mothers have suffered, land has been misused, and people have been forced to migrate.
Discussing farmers, Modi reiterated that the welfare of farmers is a top priority for the BJP. He highlighted that over the past 11 years, the BJP government has doubled the minimum support price (MSP) for jute, tripled jute procurement, mandated 100% jute usage for packaging wheat and rice, and imposed a ban on single-use plastics to boost jute demand. This ensures that jute mills in Bengal receive the highest orders. However, he criticized the TMC syndicate for obstructing the operations of these mills, asserting that for the welfare of farmers, the TMC government must be ousted.
