PM Modi Meets Rising Cricket Star Vaibhav Suryavanshi at Patna Airport

During his visit to Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had the opportunity to meet young cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi at Patna Airport. The Prime Minister shared on social media that he was delighted to meet Vaibhav and his family, highlighting the admiration for the young cricketer's skills across the nation. He extended his best wishes for Vaibhav's future endeavors. The 14-year-old has gained attention since the IPL 2025 season. Vaibhav showed his respect by touching the PM's feet to seek blessings.

With his remarkable stroke play and ability to hit impressive sixes, Vaibhav has scored 252 runs in seven innings during IPL 2025. His talent was recognized when Rajasthan Royals acquired him for ₹1.1 crore in last year's auction. Notably, he achieved a century off 35 balls against Gujarat Titans and scored a half-century against Chennai Super Kings. His next significant challenge will be to perform well for India during the multi-format tour in England scheduled for June-July.

The Indian Under-19 team is set to play a practice match against the England Under-19 team, followed by a five-match ODI series and two multi-day matches. This will mark Vaibhav's first experience playing in challenging English conditions, which is crucial for India's preparation for the 2026 Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup. Vaibhav has not only made history as the youngest centurion in the IPL but also holds the record as the youngest centurion globally. Despite these remarkable achievements, experts have pointed out the future challenges that Vaibhav will need to navigate.
