Inauguration of the Vibrant Gujarat Conference
On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 'Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference' for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions. During his first visit to Gujarat in 2026, he emphasized that this journey is guided by the principles of 'development and heritage'. He expressed his honor in advancing development projects in Rajkot after worshipping at the Somnath temple.
Significance of Vibrant Gujarat
While discussing the success of the conference, PM Modi remarked that Vibrant Gujarat is not merely a meeting; it represents the evolving image of India in the 21st century. He noted that over the past two decades, the conference has held ten editions, setting a global benchmark for investment.
He further explained that the conference has now been brought to a regional level to showcase the potential of areas in Gujarat that still have significant opportunities for development.
India's Growing Economic Strength
During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted several examples of India's economic resilience. He stated that India is on the path to becoming the world's third-largest economy.
With pride, he mentioned that India leads in milk production and generic medicines, and it is also the largest producer of vaccines globally. He assured that inflation is under control and that new records are being set in the agricultural sector.
Business Exhibition and Reverse Buyer-Seller Meeting
Prior to the conference, PM Modi inaugurated a large business exhibition at Marwari University in Rajkot. The event attracted over 110 buyers from 16 countries, including the USA and Europe, with approximately 1,500 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) expected to be signed.
A 'Reverse Buyer-Seller Meeting' is taking place, where buyers gather in one location, and sellers present their products to them. More than 1,800 meetings have been scheduled. This exhibition, spanning 26,000 square meters, features major companies such as Adani Green, Essar, Torrent Power, and Naira Energy.
