PM Modi Launches BCCI Indoor Cricket Academies in North-East India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially inaugurated the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Indoor Cricket Academies across the North-East region. This event took place virtually from the newly established Indoor Cricket Academy located at the Sikkim Cricket Ground in Rangpo, Sikkim. The launch of these academies is part of BCCI's initiative to elevate cricket standards in the North-East, aligning them with more established cricketing states.

The BCCI shared on X that PM Modi inaugurated six indoor cricket academies aimed at enhancing access to quality training and opportunities in the North-East. The ceremony was graced by notable figures including Jay Shah, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and former BCCI Secretary, along with other senior BCCI officials such as President Mithun Manhas, Secretary Devajit Saikia, Vice President Rajeev Shukla, Joint Secretary Prabhtej Bhatia, Treasurer A. Raghuram Bhat, and IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal.
Modern Facilities in Sikkim
The newly built cricket facility at the Sikkim Cricket Ground in Mining, Rangpo, has been constructed at a cost of Rs 23 crore by the BCCI. This state-of-the-art facility, situated within the Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) grounds, boasts modern amenities including net practice areas, a gym, a swimming pool, and other vital infrastructure designed to enhance cricket training standards in the region.
