Inauguration of India Mobile Congress 2026


On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. This year's theme is "Scale Without Boundaries," and the event is set to run from October 7 to 10, featuring participation from over 100 countries. Discussions at the congress will focus on innovations related to telecom, 6G technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital advancements.


Focus on Combating Cyber Fraud

Prior to the IMC, PM Modi engaged with board members of the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), highlighting the rising threat of digital and cyber fraud. He stressed the necessity for technology-driven solutions to tackle these challenges.


The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of continuously educating users about potential fraudulent calls and digital scams. He called for the establishment of global standards and uniform regulations for emerging technologies.

He also mentioned the potential of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), suggesting that such technological frameworks could be beneficial for developing nations.
