On April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor during a significant visit to Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Worship at Dat Kali Temple
Before the inauguration, the Prime Minister arrived in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, around 11:15 AM, where he reviewed the wildlife corridor built on the elevated section of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. He also conducted a grand roadshow, receiving a warm welcome from the enthusiastic crowd. Following this, PM Modi visited the Dat Kali Temple in Dehradun to perform rituals and seek blessings.
Project Highlights
This corridor, spanning 213 kilometers and costing over ₹12,000 crores, exemplifies modern engineering. Its standout feature is Asia's longest 12-kilometer elevated wildlife corridor, along with a 340-meter tunnel near the Dat Kali Temple. Once operational, the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun will be reduced to just 2.5 hours, boosting tourism and commercial activities in the region.
