On International Yoga Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the global significance of yoga amidst worldwide tensions. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu praised Modi for popularizing yoga as a global health movement. The event saw participation from millions across 175 countries, showcasing yoga's unifying power. Naidu announced the launch of the 'Yoga Super League' and urged for yoga's inclusion in major international sports events. He also highlighted a record-breaking yoga session involving over 22,000 tribal students, calling for daily yoga practice as a public movement.

Global Tensions and the Role of Yoga

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the world is currently facing various forms of stress, with many regions experiencing unrest and instability. He stated that yoga serves as a pathway to peace and fosters unity. Following this, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu praised PM Modi, asserting that he has not only popularized yoga in India but has also transformed it into a global health movement.


While participating in the 11th International Yoga Day event at RK Beach alongside PM Modi, Naidu noted that yoga is being celebrated in over 175 countries, with participation from more than 10 crore individuals across 12 lakh locations.


Acknowledging the Global Movement of Yoga

Naidu expressed his gratitude towards PM Modi, acknowledging his visionary leadership in making yoga a global phenomenon. He highlighted that the inception of International Yoga Day through the United Nations has turned yoga into a worldwide health initiative. He remarked that yoga, an ancient Indian practice, transcends nationality, region, and religion, promoting a harmonious connection between body, mind, and soul, which is beneficial for health.


The Chief Minister also announced the upcoming launch of the 'Yoga Super League' in September and urged the Prime Minister to advocate for the inclusion of yoga in the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, and ultimately the Olympic Games. Naidu stated, 'Only Narendra Modi can create history and break records, so I am making this request to him.'


Record-Breaking Yoga Participation

He further shared that on Friday, a record was set when 22,122 tribal students practiced yoga together. Naidu emphasized that yoga has evolved into a mass movement and encouraged everyone to dedicate at least one hour daily to yoga practice.
