PM Modi Declares Beginning of Change in West Bengal Elections
Modi's Vision for West Bengal
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi characterized the record voter turnout in the first phase of the West Bengal assembly elections as the dawn of the end for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) 'Maha Jungle Raj.' He expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the government in the state following the election results on May 4. Modi also acknowledged the contribution of female voters, labeling the TMC as a party against women's interests. Addressing a rally in Dum Dum, he noted that the morale of TMC's goons has diminished, as they are aware of their impending defeat.
He accused the TMC of obstructing women's progress and emphasized that the safety of women is a priority for the BJP. Modi highlighted that the saffron party has nominated Ratna Debnath, the mother of a victim from the RG Kar rape-murder case, as a candidate.
The support witnessed for the BJP yesterday has sounded the victory trumpet for the party. In West Bengal, where the TMC has previously suppressed democracy with its authoritarian approach, the public has begun to restore the sanctity of democracy in the first phase of voting.
PM Modi reiterated that the BJP is dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of every sister and daughter in Bengal, promising them safety, respect, and prosperity. He assured the women of Bengal that under a BJP government, their lives would improve, with provisions for free rations for the underprivileged. No syndicate would be able to deprive them of their rights, and the dream of owning a home would be realized. Assistance of up to ₹1.5 lakh will be provided under the PM Awas Yojana, with homes registered in women's names. Modi assured every daughter of Bengal that the BJP would not allow their dreams to be crushed. After the BJP government is formed on May 4, every case of injustice and oppression will be addressed—this is Modi's guarantee.
