PM Modi Critiques Opposition as 'Obstructive Force' During Ekta Diwas Celebration
Modi's Strong Words Against Opposition
Ekta Nagar: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Opposition, labeling it as an "Avrodh Paksh" (obstructive force) instead of a "Virodh Paksh" (opposing group), emphasizing the necessity for national unity.
Speaking at the Parade Ground in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, during the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, which commemorates the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Modi expressed concern over the current political climate.
"It is unfortunate that the Opposition has transformed into an Avrodh Paksh," he remarked.
In a subtle jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's overseas visits, Modi questioned, "Who is meeting whom abroad in secrecy? Which forces against India are being supported? Who is echoing the sentiments of India's adversaries?"
He urged the nation to unite against such elements, accusing the Opposition of attempting to create divisions among the populace.
"Social media is being weaponized, spreading rumors and damaging India's reputation," he added.
Modi reiterated his commitment to eradicating Naxalism and Maoism, stating, "I promised last year that we would not rest until the country was liberated from Naxalism; that promise has been fulfilled. While we have dealt with Naxals, the threat from 'dimagi Naxals' remains significant."
He outlined India's future objectives, which include securing national borders, preventing infiltration and demographic shifts, and advancing towards a secular civil code.
"Our aspirations are 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' (One India, Best India) and 'Vikshit Bharat'," Modi concluded, reaffirming the path laid out by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
