PM Modi Critiques Congress Over Silence on Operation Sindoor Debate

In a recent parliamentary session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress party, implying that some of its leaders were silenced during discussions on Operation Sindoor. Although he did not name them, his comments seemed directed at Congress MPs Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari, who did not participate in the debate. Modi emphasized the need for a shift in mindset among Congress leaders regarding India's representation on global platforms. This incident raises questions about internal dynamics within the party and its response to national issues.

Modi's Remarks on Congress Leaders

New Delhi: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jab at the Congress party, suggesting that certain leaders were restricted from voicing their opinions in Parliament. This remark seemed to stem from the party's discomfort regarding India's position on Operation Sindoor, which was recently discussed.

While Modi did not specify any names, it appeared he was alluding to Congress MPs Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari, both of whom remained silent during the parliamentary debate on Operation Sindoor.

During the Lok Sabha discussions, Modi remarked, “Those who see themselves as prominent Congress leaders are troubled by the fact that India’s perspective was shared globally. It seems some leaders have even been prevented from speaking in Parliament... This mindset needs to change.”

Tharoor had previously led one of the seven multi-party delegations to the United States and four other nations to articulate India's stance on Operation Sindoor and terrorism, while Tewari was also part of a similar delegation.

Notably, both Congress MPs chose not to engage in the Lok Sabha debate on Monday and Tuesday.
