Modi's Strong Remarks Against DMK and Congress
During a rally in Coimbatore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the DMK and Congress for their failure to support the Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha. He stated that the DMK's true nature has been revealed, and they can no longer hide their real face. Modi emphasized that a new chapter is being written in Tamil Nadu's political landscape, with the people sending a clear message: NDA is in, DMK is out.
Modi expressed his pain and anger in front of the crowd, highlighting the passage of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act in 2023. He noted that on the 16th of this month, a historic step was taken towards implementing women's reservation in Parliament and state assemblies. He had personally appealed to all political parties for their support, even offering them credit for the initiative, as his primary goal was to see more women from ordinary families represented in legislative bodies.
Unfortunately, he lamented, this noble effort was thwarted. The DMK, Congress, and their allies targeted it with hatred and petty politics. Based on the 2011 census, Tamil Nadu was set to gain additional seats, but the DMK clearly opposed this. Their misdeeds have now been fully exposed, and they cannot hide behind their black attire. The public is aware of their wrongdoings, and they can no longer escape accountability. Modi reassured the audience that this is not the end of their struggle but merely the beginning, as the BJP and NDA will continue to fight for their rights.
He announced that he would discuss this issue in detail later that evening at 8:30 PM. Modi pointed out that the DMK has no achievements to showcase and lacks substantial issues to raise, which is why they resorted to spreading false fears about a reduction in Tamil Nadu's seats. The DMK had previously advocated for maintaining the current proportional representation, a proposal they had also supported. However, their stance has now shifted. He questioned why the rising influence of women causes such discomfort for the DMK and Congress, suggesting that these family-centric parties wish to keep power confined to their own families.
Modi further accused the DMK of promoting violence and crime in Tamil Nadu, which harms women. He noted that they do not stand with women in Parliament, but their anti-women ideology will face a strong rebuttal. He criticized the DMK's policy of 'by the family, for the family, and of the family,' highlighting that the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, prominent MPs from Delhi, and various media and film industries are all under the control of a single family. Even senior politicians are often humiliated in front of the youngest family member. Whenever he meets the people of Tamil Nadu, they inform him about the fierce competition among family members, particularly between sons and sons-in-law, in a race to see who can exploit more.
