PM Modi Criticizes Congress Over Historical Failures and Defense Readiness
Prime Minister Modi's Strong Critique of Congress
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fierce critique against the opposition Congress party, referencing historical events related to India's partition. He accused certain political factions of having a history of undermining the nation. Speaking at a public gathering in Ajmer, Modi also targeted the opposition regarding defense preparedness, claiming that during Congress-led administrations, the armed forces faced significant resource shortages.
Allegations Against Congress
Modi asserted that it was the Congress party that made soldiers wait for essential equipment and uniforms. He highlighted that families of soldiers were denied the 'One Rank One Pension' scheme and pointed out that there were massive scams in defense deals with foreign nations during their tenure. He remarked that the All India Muslim League 'harbored hatred for India' and was responsible for the country's division, drawing a parallel to Congress's current trajectory.
Accusations of Defamation and Weakening Institutions
The Prime Minister accused Congress of tarnishing the country's image and weakening national institutions. He stated that Maoists despise India's prosperity, constitution, and democracy, similarly alleging that Congress seeks opportunities to defame the nation and infiltrates everywhere to achieve this. He emphasized that the country would never forgive such misdeeds. Highlighting initiatives launched since 2014, Modi noted that before his government took office, basic facilities like toilets were neglected.
Focus on Development in Rajasthan
He recounted the period before 2014 when the lack of toilets forced many sisters and daughters to endure humiliation, leading some girls to drop out of school due to the absence of separate toilet facilities. For those previously in power, these issues were trivial. Discussing development in Rajasthan, Modi stated that the BJP's 'two-engine government' is working to balance heritage and progress.
Infrastructure Development and Its Impact
He further explained that good roads, railways, and air connectivity not only simplify travel but also transform the fate of entire regions. When roads reach villages, farmers can sell their produce at fair prices, and traders can expand their markets.
