It is noteworthy that Lebanon is currently regarded as one of the most dangerous areas for UN peacekeeping operations.

Who is Major Abhilasha Barak?
Major Barak is the third Indian woman officer to receive the Military Gender Advocate Award, following Major Suman Gawani and Major Radhika Sen. She is currently serving with the Indian battalion on a UN mission along the Israel-Lebanon border, which is considered one of the most perilous missions today. After joining the Army Air Defence Corps in 2018, she made history by graduating from the Combat Army Aviation Training School in Nashik in 2022. Reflecting on her journey, Major Barak stated, "As India's first female combat helicopter pilot, I have experienced that when women are given the right opportunities, they can overcome any obstacle and achieve great heights."
