PM Modi's Historic Visit to Croatia

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Croatia, marking the final destination of his three-nation tour. After attending the G7 Summit in Canada, he was welcomed with a ceremonial reception in Zagreb.


This visit is significant as it represents the first time an Indian Prime Minister has traveled to Croatia, paving the way for enhanced bilateral relations and cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest. During his stay, PM Modi is scheduled to engage in discussions with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and meet with President Zoran Milanovic. This trip also highlights India's dedication to strengthening its partnerships within the European Union.


Reflecting on his time in Canada, PM Modi described the visit as 'productive,' noting that the G7 Summit facilitated valuable conversations on a range of global challenges. He expressed gratitude to the Canadian people and government for their hospitality during the summit.


In a post on X, he stated, 'We remain committed to furthering global peace, prosperity, and sustainability.' At the G7 Summit's Outreach Session in Kananaskis, he addressed the topic of 'Energy Security,' emphasizing the importance of diversification, technology, and infrastructure to ensure access and affordability in a rapidly changing world.


PM Modi pointed out that energy security is a critical challenge for future generations. He elaborated on India's commitment to inclusive growth, highlighting the principles of availability, accessibility, affordability, and acceptability that guide India's energy security strategy. He also noted that India, as the fastest-growing major economy, has met its Paris Agreement commitments ahead of schedule.


In his remarks, he underscored India's dedication to a sustainable future, mentioning various global initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance, Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, Global Biofuels Alliance, Mission LiFE, and One Sun- One World- One Grid. He urged the international community to bolster these initiatives.
