Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wrapped up his trip to Canada, where he participated in the G7 summit. Following this, he is now en route to Croatia for a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. During his stay in Croatia, he is also scheduled to meet with President Zoran Milanović. While in Canada, PM Modi expressed gratitude to the Canadian people and government for hosting the G7 summit successfully, emphasizing India's commitment to global peace, prosperity, and security.


Discussion on Bilateral Relations with Canada

In a post on social media, PM Modi reflected on the conclusion of his visit to Canada, thanking the Canadian government and citizens for their hospitality during the G7 summit, where significant discussions on various global issues took place. He reiterated India's dedication to promoting global peace, prosperity, and stability. The Ministry of External Affairs also highlighted the significance of this trip, noting that PM Modi had a productive visit to Canada, engaging in valuable discussions on energy security, technology, and innovation within a global context. He met with several leaders to discuss bilateral relations, with Croatia being the next destination.


It is noteworthy that PM Modi arrived at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge in Alberta, Canada, to attend the G7 summit, where he was welcomed by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. Throughout the summit, PM Modi emphasized India's efforts to strengthen global partnerships and act in the interests of the Global South. He held discussions with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa.


Based on these discussions, PM Modi underscored solidarity with the Global South following meetings with leaders from Brazil and South Africa. He described his conversations with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, reaffirming their shared commitment to addressing critical issues for the Global South and working towards a better future for upcoming generations. Additionally, PM Modi engaged in in-depth discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba during the G7 summit.
