Rescue Operations Amidst Monsoon Chaos
New Delhi: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his appreciation to the Indian Armed Forces, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local volunteers, and community members for their relentless efforts in rescue operations as the monsoon continues to cause widespread destruction across the nation.
The monsoon season has brought severe challenges to various regions in India, affecting states from Jammu and Kashmir to Karnataka. Heavy rainfall has resulted in floods, landslides, and flash floods, leading to significant damage.
During the 125th episode of his monthly radio show, 'Mann Ki Baat', PM Modi remarked, "This monsoon season has posed serious challenges for our country. Recently, we have witnessed catastrophic floods and landslides. Homes have been destroyed, fields submerged, and families devastated. The rising water levels have swept away bridges and roads, putting lives at risk."
He expressed his sorrow over the tragedies, stating, "The grief of families who have lost loved ones resonates with all of us."
The Prime Minister lauded the dedication of rescue teams during these trying times, saying, "In every crisis, our NDRF, SDRF, and other security personnel have worked tirelessly to save lives. They utilized technology effectively, employing thermal cameras, live detectors, sniffer dogs, and drones to enhance rescue operations."
Conveying his gratitude, PM Modi added, "Relief supplies were delivered via helicopters, and the injured were airlifted. The armed forces stepped up during this crisis, and local citizens, social workers, and medical professionals all played vital roles. I sincerely thank every individual who prioritized humanity in these challenging times."
