Celebrating a Milestone in Odisha

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted an impressive roadshow in Bhubaneswar to commemorate the first anniversary of the BJP administration in Odisha. The event attracted large crowds, with many citizens coming out to welcome the Prime Minister.


Upon his arrival in the city during the afternoon, PM Modi shifted the roadshow from Biju Patnaik International Airport to Janata Maidan. This visit is part of the BJP's strategy to bolster its presence in the state and highlight the achievements of the past year.


State-Level Event and Development Initiatives

Following the roadshow, PM Modi is set to lead a state-level function celebrating the completion of one year of the BJP government in Odisha. During this event, he will inaugurate and lay the groundwork for various development projects, with a total investment exceeding ₹18,600 crore aimed at enhancing infrastructure, connectivity, and public amenities in the region.


Recent Initiatives in Bihar


In a recent visit to Bihar, PM Modi launched India's inaugural export-oriented locomotive from the Marhowrah railway factory as part of the 'Make in India' initiative, marking a significant achievement. This advanced locomotive is destined for the Republic of Guinea, highlighting India's growing capabilities in manufacturing high-quality rail equipment for global markets.


Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated the Patliputra–Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express via video link, which will enhance travel efficiency between Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, and Gorakhpur, improving passenger comfort and bolstering Bihar's transport infrastructure.


The Prime Minister also initiated the ₹400 crore Vaishali–Deoria railway line project, further underscoring the government's dedication to expanding Bihar's railway network. Alongside railway advancements, he inaugurated six sewage treatment plants and various water projects totaling over ₹1,800 crore, and laid the foundation for new urban water and sanitation initiatives worth ₹3,000 crore.


Moreover, the tour included the launch of a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System across 15 substations, further enhancing Bihar's power infrastructure. Under the PMAY (Urban) scheme, financial assistance was provided to over 53,000 housing beneficiaries, with 6,600 new house keys distributed, marking a significant developmental stride across the state.
