Global Unity Through Yoga

On June 21, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large gathering in Visakhapatnam to commemorate the 11th International Yoga Day. He emphasized the global acceptance of yoga, stating, "Today, the entire world is engaging in Yoga. The essence of Yoga is to unite, and it is heartening to witness how it has brought the world together." He extended his warm wishes to the approximately 300,000 attendees in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh.

A Decade of Yoga's Journey

PM Modi referred to the event as a symbol of worldwide solidarity. He remarked, "Reflecting on the past decade of Yoga, I recall the moment when India proposed a resolution at the UN General Assembly to designate June 21 as International Yoga Day. In a remarkably short span, 175 nations rallied behind us. This level of unity and support in today's world is extraordinary."

Yoga as a Source of Peace

The Prime Minister expressed pride in witnessing Divyang students learning Yoga Shastras in Braille. He noted, "Scientists practice Yoga in space, and young individuals participate in Yoga Olympiads across villages. Exceptional yoga sessions are being conducted on Navy ships. Whether at the Opera House, the summit of Everest, or the vast ocean, the message remains clear: Yoga transcends boundaries, backgrounds, and abilities."

Recognition and Future Aspirations

During the event, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu honored PM Modi. He arrived in Visakhapatnam to participate in the significant demonstration. CM Naidu announced the launch of the Yoga Super League in September and urged the Prime Minister to advocate for the inclusion of Yoga in the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and Olympic Games.
