Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the Adi Thiruvathirai festival held at the Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple in Tamil Nadu. During this event, he delivered a significant address focusing on Indian culture, historical heritage, and national security, praying for the welfare of 1.4 billion Indians and the continuous progress of the nation.


Spiritual Connection and Kashi

While addressing the audience, PM Modi expressed, 'As the MP from Kashi, I feel a shiver when I hear 'Om Namah Shivaya.' The divine energy of Shiva's vision, the music of Ilaiyaraaja, and the chanting of mantras create an overwhelming spiritual experience.' He called upon Lord Shiva to shower blessings on everyone, chanting 'Har Har Mahadev.'


Legacy of the Chola Empire and Vision for a Developed India

The Prime Minister highlighted the diplomatic and trade relations established by the Chola kings, which extended to Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Southeast Asia. He noted that he had just returned from the Maldives a day prior. PM Modi emphasized that the history and legacy of the Chola Empire symbolize India's true potential and inspire the dream of a developed India that we are striving towards today.


Cultural Unity and Government Initiatives

He stressed that the Chola kings wove India into a tapestry of cultural unity, and the current government is advancing those very ideals from the Chola era. He cited events like Kashi-Tamil Sangamam and Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamam as examples of strengthening the threads of unity that have persisted for centuries.


Establishment of Sengol and National Pride

PM Modi also recalled the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament, where the saints of Shiva Adheenam provided spiritual guidance, and the 'Sengol,' associated with Tamil culture, was established in the Parliament. He remarked, 'I still feel a sense of pride when I remember that moment.'


Inspiration from Economic and Strategic Advancements

The Prime Minister described the economic and strategic heights achieved during the Chola era as still inspirational today. He mentioned the powerful navy established by Rajaraja Chola and its further strengthening by Rajendra Chola.


Current Security Priorities of India

Highlighting the current security priorities of India, PM Modi stated, 'Today's India places utmost importance on its security.' He referenced 'Operation Sindoor,' asserting that the world has witnessed India's capability to respond in kind to any threats against its security and sovereignty. He firmly stated that this operation has made it clear that there is no safe haven left in the world for India's enemies and terrorists.
