PM Modi Campaigns Vigorously for BJP Ahead of West Bengal Elections
Modi's Final Rally in West Bengal
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an energetic campaign for the BJP in West Bengal, just before the second phase of voting. Speaking at a public gathering in Barrackpore, he referred to this event as his last electoral appearance in the state and expressed confidence in the party's performance. Modi also mentioned his intention to return for the BJP's swearing-in ceremony, indicating his optimism about the party forming the government. "This is my final rally in this election. I am leaving with the assurance that I will definitely attend the BJP's swearing-in ceremony after the results on May 4. This boosts my enthusiasm," he stated. He described his journey from the helipad to the venue, noting the massive crowd that gathered early in the morning to bless him.
Modi Criticizes TMC's Governance
During his address, PM Modi launched a sharp critique against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing it of stifling industrial activity and causing factory closures in the state. He asserted that the TMC government lacks a clear roadmap for West Bengal's future development. Emphasizing the need for a "double-engine government," Modi argued that rapid progress can only be achieved through collaboration between the state and central governments. He further targeted the ruling party, claiming that the TMC's "syndicate system" must be dismantled and accused it of relying on intimidation and abusive politics instead of constructive governance.
Safety Concerns for Women in West Bengal
PM Modi urged female voters to consider the TMC's track record when casting their votes, alleging that the party has failed to earn their trust. He claimed that the TMC has rendered the state unsafe for women and has not respected the mandate given by the people. Modi encouraged voters to remember the alleged misconduct and intimidation associated with the TMC.
