PM Modi Advocates Dialogue Amid Rising Tensions in West Asia
India's Stance on Global Conflicts
As tensions escalate in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India's long-standing commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as solutions to global conflicts. During a joint press conference with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, he expressed serious concerns regarding the current situation in the region. Modi emphasized that India has consistently called for dialogue to resolve such disputes, highlighting New Delhi's enduring commitment to peaceful resolutions.
He also addressed shared global concerns regarding terrorism, extremism, and radicalization, stating, "We are united in our stance against terrorism, extremism, and radicalization, as these pose significant challenges not only to us but to the entire world."
Call for Collective Action
Stressing the need for collective action, Modi pointed out that close cooperation among nations is essential to tackle these threats and ensure global peace and stability. He further stated that addressing these issues requires strong collaboration for the sake of world peace and stability. Reinforcing India's comprehensive foreign policy, he noted that amidst global tensions, India has consistently supported peace.
Modi remarked, "India's position on global tensions has always been clear. We have advocated for continuous peace and stability, and when two democracies stand together, the call for peace becomes even stronger."
Government's Vigilance on Citizen Safety
The Prime Minister also assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation and is in contact with regional countries to ensure the safety of Indian citizens. He stated, "We are working with every country to guarantee the safety of all Indian nationals in the region." This statement follows the recent joint military actions by the U.S. and Israel against Iran, which resulted in the death of the country's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and his family.
