Shocking Discovery in Hamirpur

In Hamirpur district, Uttar Pradesh, the discovery of a woman's body by the roadside has been determined to be a premeditated murder rather than an accident, aimed at defrauding an insurance payout. This revelation was made by the police on Saturday.

Authorities reported that the body was found on the night of July 29 near the village of Paudhiya in the Lalapura police jurisdiction. Identification of the deceased, identified as Rita (32) from Bamrauli village in the Maudaha area, was made based on a bank slip. Following directives from Superintendent of Police Mrigank Shekhar Pathak, a specialized team utilized technical evidence and surveillance to apprehend Rita's husband, Amar Singh, along with three other suspects: Amit Gupta alias Ram, Pushpendra Soni alias Sahil, and Abhay Singh alias Golu.

The police recovered the Alto car used in the murder and an Airtel SIM card from the suspects. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Arvind Kumar, Rita had entered into a love marriage with Amar Singh approximately two and a half years ago, marking her second marriage and Amar's third.

Investigations revealed that the suspects were in debt and had taken out a life insurance policy on Rita, plotting her murder to claim the insurance money under the guise of an accident. It was disclosed that out of the total insurance amount of 44 lakh rupees, 15 lakh was intended for Amar Singh, with the remainder to be distributed among the other accused. The plan involved luring Rita to the Paudhiya canal road, where she was first struck by the car and then run over again, leading to her death.

After the incident, Amar Singh attempted to evade suspicion by reporting his wife's disappearance. Following a complaint from Rita's father, a murder case was registered. The police confirmed that all suspects have been presented in court, and legal proceedings are underway.
