Phoenix Hyderabad Triumphs at IGPL Invitational 2026
Phoenix Hyderabad Takes Early Lead in Team Competition
Phoenix Hyderabad has secured an impressive start in the Team competition at the IGPL Invitational 2026, which was hosted by Leander Paes at the Anahita Golf Course. The team's success was largely attributed to Sachin Baisoya, who achieved his first IGPL victory. The 30-year-old golfer recorded scores of 67-71-67 over the three-day event, propelling his team to the forefront, surpassing Mumbai's Atri and RVR Delhi.
Baisoya's Performance and Overall Rankings
In individual stroke play, Sachin Baisoya from Phoenix emerged as the champion, while teenager Veer Ganapathy from GolfKonnect Bangalore secured the second position, with his team finishing ninth overall. Phoenix concluded the tournament with a total score of 14-under, narrowly beating Atri, which finished at 13-under, and RVR Delhi at 12-under. The points awarded were 100 for Phoenix, 90 for Atri, and 80 for RVR. These points will accumulate throughout the season to determine the overall team champions.
Team Composition and Scoring Details
The Phoenix team consisted of Baisoya, Raghav Chugh, Ranjit Singh, and Arjun Bhati. Atri's lineup included Olympian Udayan Mane, Aman Raj, Aadil Bedi, and Tushar Pannu, while RVR Delhi featured Shiv Kapur, Chiragh Kumar, Aryan Roopa Anand, and Gaurav Ghei. In this team format, the two best scores from each team contributed to the overall team score.
Key Contributions from Each Team
Baisoya was the standout performer for Phoenix, supported effectively by Raghav Chugh, who consistently delivered strong scores. For Atri, Aman Raj was the key player, with his scores being crucial each day, alongside Udayan Mane's contributions. RVR Delhi saw contributions from all four players, with Aryan Roopa Anand and Shiv Kapur providing the counting scores on the first day, followed by Aryan and Gaurav Ghei on the second, and Kapur and Chiragh Kumar on the final day.
This event marks the inaugural inclusion of a team competition within a stroke play format, with 40 players selected through an auction earlier this month.
