Amaravati, July 15: Pawan Kalyan, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has been discharged from a Mumbai hospital following a successful surgery on his right shoulder.
As per the information from his office, he is set to return to Hyderabad, where he will recuperate at home.
Doctors have recommended that he begin physiotherapy in three weeks.
The surgery, which took place on July 11 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, was necessary due to a rotator cuff injury in his right shoulder.
Medical professionals indicated that it would take approximately four months for the shoulder to heal completely.
On July 12, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Pawan Kalyan in the hospital to wish him a swift recovery.
Naidu noted, “Doctors have advised a three-week rest period, followed by physiotherapy. He is also experiencing issues with his other shoulder, which will require physiotherapy as well. After six months, a further evaluation will be conducted to determine the next steps.”
The hospital's health bulletin revealed that Pawan Kalyan suffered a significant rotator cuff injury, including a severe tear of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons, along with an avulsion fracture of the greater tuberosity bone.
Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, the Director of Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service, successfully performed the arthroscopic repair. The procedure went smoothly, and he is currently recovering well.
The bulletin further stated, “After a period of rest and recovery, Mr. Pawan Kalyan will follow a structured rehabilitation program for his shoulder, with an anticipated full recovery of function within four months.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also visited Pawan Kalyan on July 13 to check on his health and extend his wishes for a quick recovery.
