Patna Court Grants Bail to Coaching Institute Director Amid Violence Case

On Monday, a court in Patna approved bail for Roshan Anand, the director of Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute. This decision is linked to the violence and vandalism that occurred outside Khan Global Studies in the Musallahpur Hat area on June 2. The institute is operated by Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir. Anand was arrested on June 3 and had been in judicial custody since then. Previously, a lower court had denied his bail application on June 9, citing claims of a planned attack, reports of injuries to a security guard, and Anand's criminal history.

Concerns Raised by Anand Post-Release

After his release from jail, Anand raised several questions. He stated that he was heading to his brother's funeral and questioned the Patna police about his arrest without any investigation. He asked, "Which leader is protecting Faisal Khan? Under whose political pressure was I arrested?" He noted that when a case was filed against Khan, the police had 48 to 72 hours to apprehend him, yet they failed to do so.

Allegations of Conspiracy and Threats

Anand alleged that he was incarcerated when his brother was murdered as part of a conspiracy and expressed fears for his own safety, claiming that Faisal Khan could also orchestrate his murder. He demanded protection from the Patna police, asserting that Khan had ordered gunfire, yet he was wrongfully blamed. Anand claimed there is evidence of Khan's involvement in the shooting order, but the police have not arrested him. He accused R.S. Prasad, the owner of a cold storage facility, and Khan of conspiring to kill his brother and potentially targeting him as well.

Details of the FIR

In the recent hearing, the sessions court granted bail, paving the way for Anand's release from Beur Jail. This case stems from an FIR filed by Kanhaiya Kumar Singh, the manager of KGS. The FIR alleges that on the night of June 2, a group of 15-20 individuals threw stones at the institute's premises, assaulted the security guard, damaged property, and threatened to "blow up the institute within two days." Anand, his brother Prince Yadav, and others were named in the FIR.
