Incident at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport

On Tuesday night, a passenger at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore slapped one of the accused in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred as a team from Meghalaya police was escorting four suspects into the airport. The passenger, visibly upset about the high-profile murder case, expressed his anger by striking one of the accused as they passed by with their luggage.

The slap was delivered unexpectedly, highlighting the public's outrage over the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. Witnesses noted that the police had covered the faces of the suspects, making it unclear which individual was slapped.

Video of the Incident Goes Viral

A video capturing this incident has circulated widely on social media. According to Rajesh Dandotia, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police in Indore, a 12-member team from Meghalaya was transporting the four suspects—Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi—under transit custody to Shillong.

Reports indicate that after Raja Raghuvanshi's murder on May 23, his wife Sonam traveled to Indore. A police officer from Madhya Pradesh revealed that Sonam had been residing in a rented flat in the Devass Naka area of Indore between May 25 and May 27. Further details are expected to be provided by the Meghalaya police.

Evidence Collection and Investigation

The Meghalaya police visited Vishal Chauhan's residence, where they seized clothing items he wore during the murder. ACP Poonamchandra Yadav stated that these garments would be sent to a forensic lab to check for any traces of the victim's blood.

Authorities revealed that Raja Raghuvanshi, a 29-year-old transport businessman, was allegedly murdered as part of a conspiracy involving his wife Sonam, who is 25. She reportedly enlisted the help of her alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha, to hire three hitmen. Sonam surrendered to the police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on June 8, while the other suspects were apprehended in various locations across Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Raja and Sonam went missing on May 23 during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. His body was discovered on June 2 near a waterfall in the Sohra area, also known as Cherrapunji. Raja's family is involved in the transport business, and he had married Sonam on May 11 in Indore before departing for their honeymoon on May 20. A special investigation team (SIT) from Meghalaya police is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the murder case.
