Indian boxer Parveen Hooda has clinched another medal for her country by advancing to the semifinals in the women's 65 kg category at the Asian Games taking place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. On Sunday, she achieved a remarkable victory over Uzbekistan's Navbakhor Khamidova, a silver medalist from the World Championships, winning by a unanimous 5-0 decision, according to ESPN. After having her bronze medal from the 2022 Asian Games revoked due to a doping violation, Parveen has made a strong comeback and is now in contention for gold. She dominated the match, winning the three rounds with scores of 4-1, 5-0, and 5-0.

Ankush Panghal Guarantees Medal in Men's Boxing

In another exciting development, Ankush Panghal secured a medal for India in the men's 80 kg boxing category by defeating Tajikistan's Nekruz Salimov in the quarterfinals. The match, held on Sunday, ended with a unanimous 5-0 victory for Ankush, showcasing his superior speed and punching skills. Throughout the bout, Nekruz attempted to counter-punch and defend himself, particularly in the first round, but Ankush's proactive approach, especially with his right hooks, led him to win the first round decisively at 5-0. In the second round, Ankush continued his aggressive strategy, landing a powerful left hook and delivering multiple blows to Nekruz's body.
