Parth Rakesh Mane Celebrates Silver Medal at Asian Games 2026

A Memorable Achievement

Indian shooter Parth Rakesh Mane expressed his joy over winning a silver medal in the men's 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games 2026, calling it a remarkable accomplishment and a significant learning opportunity. Parth, alongside teammates Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon, noted that this podium finish was particularly meaningful as it marked his first medal at the Asian Games and his initial success at a senior international competition. "This medal holds great importance for me and represents a valuable learning experience. It is special because it is my first Asian Games medal and my first at a senior level," Parth shared after his victory.

India's Shooting Success

India has achieved a total of five medals in shooting at this continental event, comprising four silvers and one bronze. Elavenil Valarivan secured a silver in the women's 10m air rifle, while the men's team also earned silver. Additionally, Himanshu Dhillon and Rudrankksh Patil contributed with silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the individual category.

Navigating Challenges

Parth reflected on the hurdles faced by the Indian team upon their arrival at the Games, including logistical and accommodation challenges. He emphasized that the squad adapted effectively and concentrated on their performances. "It feels great. We encountered some difficulties upon arrival, but that is to be expected. Organizing such large-scale Games is a complex task for any host nation. Minor issues are inevitable, but we managed to adapt well," he stated.

"We bounced back effectively with the help of our team physiotherapists and strength trainers, and now we are ready to perform," he added.

Strong Start for Indian Shooting

Parth also pointed out India's impressive start in shooting at the Asian Games, noting that the sport has once again provided a strong foundation for the country's medal aspirations. "It feels fantastic. Shooting typically kickstarts our campaign. Last time, shooting opened our medal tally, and this time, it has once again brought us our initial medals. It certainly feels special," he remarked.

Looking Ahead

As for future goals, Parth mentioned his immediate focus on the mixed team event with Elavenil Valarivan, followed by preparations for the World Championships in Doha. "My next goal is the mixed team event tomorrow with Ela didi [Elavenil Valarivan]. I am eager for that and will remain fully focused. After this, we have the World Championships in Doha, so I am also preparing for that," he concluded.
