Ongoing Disruptions in Parliament

The ongoing turmoil during the Budget Session of Parliament has once again impacted the proceedings. On Thursday, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha witnessed significant disruptions, leading to the suspension of Lok Sabha's session until noon.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed deep concern over the disturbances in the house, labeling them as a violation of parliamentary decorum. He emphasized that maintaining the dignity of Parliament is a collective responsibility of all members, warning that continuous interruptions undermine the democratic process.

Meanwhile, the opposition in the Rajya Sabha also created a ruckus. Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Lok Sabha of denying opposition leader Rahul Gandhi the opportunity to speak. Kharge described this as an assault on democracy and demanded a chance to voice their concerns in the house.

Prior to this, a crucial meeting of the floor leaders of opposition parties took place in the Parliament complex at Mallikarjun Kharge's office, which included Rahul Gandhi. The opposition discussed their strategy moving forward, focusing on issues such as the suspension of MPs, the denial of speaking opportunities for Rahul Gandhi, and other significant matters.

On the seventh day of the Budget Session, the primary reasons for the uproar included protests against the suspension of opposition MPs, discussions surrounding an unpublished book by a former army chief, and various other political issues. The opposition claims that the government is obstructing their ability to express their views in the house, while the ruling party argues that these actions are attempts to disrupt parliamentary proceedings.
