Historic Achievement for Paras Dogra

Veteran cricketer and Jammu and Kashmir captain, Paras Dogra, has marked a significant achievement in domestic cricket by becoming only the second player to participate in 150 Ranji Trophy matches. He joins the ranks of former Indian player Wasim Jaffer in this exclusive club. Dogra accomplished this milestone during his team's Ranji Trophy match against Baroda on Monday at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara. Congratulations to Paras Dogra for reaching this remarkable milestone of competing in 150 Ranji Trophy matches, following in the footsteps of Wasim Jaffer. @mflone_ BCCI Domestic (@BCCIdomestic) October 26, 2026.

Career Highlights and Achievements

Since the mid-2000s, Dogra has established himself as one of the leading run-scorers in Indian domestic cricket, primarily excelling in the Ranji Trophy's lower-tier teams, often away from the limelight. His most notable season was in 2012-13, where he scored five centuries in just eight matches for Himachal Pradesh, including three consecutive hundreds. His impressive performance in domestic cricket earned him a spot in the India A team for a series of unofficial Tests against West Indies A in 2013. Unfortunately, Dogra played only one match, where he scored seven runs before being dismissed by Nikita Miller.

Consistent Performance and IPL Career

Dogra maintained his consistent performance in subsequent seasons. In the 2015-16 season, he achieved the sixth and seventh double-centuries of his career in consecutive innings against Tripura and Services, finishing the season with 703 runs at an outstanding average of 78.11, solidifying his status as a reliable player in domestic red-ball cricket.

He also had stints in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing regularly for Rajasthan Royals during the 2010 season, where he participated in nine matches with a top score of 41. His appearances dwindled in later years, with three matches for Kings XI Punjab in 2012 and one for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013. In the IPL 2016 auction, he was acquired by Gujarat Lions at his base price of Rs 10 lakh.
