Voting Preparations Underway for Panchayati Raj Elections

Mukesh Repswal, the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer for Panchayati Raj, has confirmed that all polling teams have arrived at their assigned locations for the initial phase of the elections scheduled for 2026. Polling stations have been established accordingly.


He mentioned that voting will commence at 7:00 AM and will wrap up by 3:00 PM. All Returning Officers, supported by sector officers, are working to ensure that all election procedures are executed smoothly and on time.


The Deputy Commissioner elaborated that the polling in the Bharmaur and Pangi subdivisions will occur in two phases, while other subdivisions and development blocks in the district will see the voting process unfold over three phases.



  • First Phase: 118 Gram Panchayats, 676 wards

  • Second Phase: 115 Gram Panchayats, 650 wards

  • Third Phase: 86 Gram Panchayats, 650 wards


He encouraged all eligible voters to actively engage in this democratic event and ensure their participation by casting their votes on May 26, May 28, and May 30, thus fulfilling their civic duty.
