A report has revealed that the Pakistani team will not be barred from entering India for the Asia Cup, which is set to occur in Bihar from late August to early September. Sources from the sports ministry have emphasized that participation in international sports is essential and cannot be overlooked.

No Objections to Multi-Nation Events

The report further indicates that the government does not oppose any team's participation in multi-nation events held in India. However, it was noted that bilateral events are a different matter. Citing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, a source from the sports ministry stated, "Russia and Ukraine are at war, yet they still participate in multi-nation events."

The Asia Cup will take place in Rajgir, Bihar, from August 27 to September 7. Additionally, the Junior Men's Hockey World Cup is scheduled for November-December in Tamil Nadu, allowing the Pakistani team to participate in both events.

Calls for Ban on Matches Against Pakistan

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 23 resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, inciting widespread anger across the nation. In response, the Indian government canceled several agreements and trade arrangements with Pakistan. Furthermore, a ban was imposed on nearly all Pakistani social media accounts and YouTube channels in India. Since then, there have been ongoing demands to cease all sporting events against Pakistan, including the Cricket World Cup.
