Pakistan's Army Chief Takes a Stand Against Terrorism from Afghan Soil

Unacceptable Use of Afghan Territory by Terrorists

Islamabad: On Wednesday, Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief, condemned the alleged use of Afghan territory by terrorists targeting Pakistan as intolerable.

During his visit to Wana in the South Waziristan district, which borders Afghanistan, he assessed the current security landscape and the readiness of military operations.

Munir asserted that any terrorist activities originating from Afghan soil would not be tolerated, and he pledged to implement all necessary actions to address the threats posed from across the border.

This visit followed Pakistan's initiation of Operation Ghazab lil Haq (Righteous Fury) on February 26, which was a response to reported Taliban assaults on 53 sites along the extensive 2,600 km border.

He emphasized that lasting peace could only be achieved if the Afghan Taliban ceased their support for terrorism and related groups.

The field marshal received an in-depth briefing regarding the security situation, ongoing intelligence operations, and strategies for managing the border effectively.

He was also updated on the current operation and the latest developments along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier.
