Pakistan's Controversial Remarks on Pulwama Attack

In light of escalating tensions following the recent Pahalgam terror incident, Pakistan has made statements regarding the Pulwama attack, as reported by various media outlets. During a press briefing on Friday, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed of Pakistan characterized the Pulwama incident as a demonstration of 'tactical brilliance.'

The Pulwama attack occurred in 2019, resulting in the deaths of 40 Indian paramilitary personnel when a suicide bomber from Jaish-e-Mohammed targeted a CRPF convoy.

According to reports, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed stated, 'If Pakistan’s land, skies, or waters are threatened, there will be no compromise.'

He elaborated, 'We attempted to convey this with our tactical brilliance in Pulwama, and now we’ve also demonstrated our strategic capabilities.'

Accompanying him were DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry and a Navy spokesperson. Lt Gen Chaudhry is the son of Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood, a nuclear scientist with alleged connections to al-Qaida and designated as a terrorist by the United Nations. Pakistan has persistently denied any involvement in the Pulwama attack, which was carried out by the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). At that time, former Prime Minister Imran Khan acknowledged the incident as a 'serious issue' but dismissed any military connection, according to media reports.
