Pakistani Intruder Neutralized by BSF on Jammu Border: What Happened?
Intruder Shot Dead by Border Security Force
Jammu: On Saturday, a Pakistani intruder was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a spokesperson from the BSF, the infiltration attempt was thwarted near the Abdulian border outpost in the R.S. Pura sector.
The spokesperson reported that during the night of April 4-5, vigilant BSF troops detected suspicious activity in the Jammu border region, observing an individual crossing the international boundary.
Despite being challenged by the troops, the intruder continued to advance without responding.
In response to the perceived threat, the BSF troops neutralized the intruder. Authorities are currently investigating the identity and intentions of the individual, and a formal protest is being lodged with Pakistani officials.
The body of the intruder has been transferred to local police for necessary legal procedures.
Heightened surveillance is being enforced along the international border and the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir, especially after five terrorists were sighted on March 23 in Sanyal village, located just 4 km from the border.
Out of these five terrorists, two were killed during an encounter with police, while joint forces have initiated extensive operations in the Kathua and Rajouri districts to locate the remaining suspects.
Tragically, four police officers lost their lives during the initial operation in Sanyal village, with three others, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police, sustaining injuries. Fortunately, the injured officers are currently stable and receiving medical care.
Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha visited the families of the fallen officers, paying his respects and assuring them that the nation stands united with them in their time of sorrow.
Recently, a brief gunfire exchange occurred in the Billawar area of Kathua district between joint forces and terrorists, although it remains uncertain if these individuals are linked to those who escaped from Sanyal and nearby villages.
