Pakistani Deputy PM Ishaq Dar's Slip During Diplomatic Welcome Goes Viral

During a diplomatic welcome for Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelattty in Islamabad, an unusual incident occurred involving Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. While attempting to greet the guest, Dar lost his balance and fell on the red carpet. A video capturing this moment has quickly spread across social media. The footage shows Dar stumbling as he moved forward to welcome the minister, resulting in his fall. Security personnel nearby promptly assisted him. Officials later reported that the fall caused a minor fracture in the minister's shoulder, but he continued with the scheduled meetings as planned.

Although Dar did not sustain serious injuries, his son mentioned that he was taking pain relief medication and only agreed to undergo a medical examination late at night. Ali Dar shared on social media that despite the injury during the welcome ceremony, Ishaq Dar successfully completed all important meetings throughout the day with the help of painkillers. He added that after an official statement was recorded, the family insisted on a medical check-up around 9 PM. The X-ray results showed everything was fine, except for a minor fracture in the shoulder. In the coming days, his pain will be managed through medication and other precautionary measures.

As a key member of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's government, Dar is active on both domestic and international fronts. Following the meeting, he stated that discussions among regional foreign ministers focused on ways to end the ongoing conflict as soon as possible and the potential for U.S.-Iran talks in Islamabad. He emphasized that all parties agreed that the war serves no one's interests and only leads to death and destruction; unity among the Muslim Ummah is crucial during these challenging times. Dar also informed the distinguished guests about the prospects of U.S.-Iran negotiations, which received full support from the attending foreign ministers.
