Pakistan Responds to India's Accusations of Terrorism: A Call for Dialogue

Pakistan's Stance on Regional Stability

Islamabad: The Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan stated on Monday that any claims suggesting Pakistan is the root of regional instability are unfounded.

This statement comes in response to recent criticisms from Indian officials regarding Pakistan's alleged involvement in terrorism.

Prominent Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, have recently condemned Pakistan for its purported support of cross-border terrorism.

The FO emphasized that the Kashmir conflict remains the central issue jeopardizing peace and stability in the region.

Pakistan is committed to advocating for a fair and lasting resolution to the Kashmir situation, in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the desires of the Kashmiri populace.

The statement warned that ignoring this critical issue would perpetuate mistrust and could lead to further confrontations.

India, on the other hand, asserts that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inseparable parts of the nation.

The FO reiterated Pakistan's dedication to peace and constructive dialogue, while also affirming its resolve to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any form of aggression.

Tensions between the two nations heightened following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, leading to India's precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7.

In response, Pakistan attempted to target Indian military installations on May 8, 9, and 10, prompting a strong reaction from India.

The hostilities eventually subsided after discussions between the military operations directors of both countries on May 10.
