Drone Strikes Across Multiple States
In a significant escalation, Pakistan executed synchronized drone strikes late Friday night targeting 26 sites across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
Ferozepur in Punjab experienced around 25 explosions attributed to these drone activities. Fortunately, Indian defense forces managed to intercept and neutralize the majority of the drones mid-air.
Discovery of Suspicious Debris in Himachal Pradesh
Metal fragments, suspected to be remnants of missiles or rockets, were found in uninhabited regions of Pirthipur in Gagret sub-division and Behd Bhated village in Amb sub-division of Una district around 1:30 am on May 9-10.
Local police secured the area after residents reported the findings. Initial assessments indicate that the fragments are inactive and do not pose any danger. A team of specialists has commenced a thorough investigation, and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has urged the public to remain calm and refrain from spreading rumors.
Increased Security Measures and Vigilance
At 5 am, Indian forces successfully shot down a Pakistani drone near Majra village, adjacent to the Pathankot airbase along the Punjab-Himachal border.
Law enforcement, paramilitary units, and military officials quickly responded to the scene to recover the drone's remains. Similar debris was also reported from three locations in the Jawali sub-division of Kangra district.
While no damage has been reported, expert teams are currently analyzing the debris. In response to these incidents, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla convened a high-level security review meeting at Raj Bhavan, instructing agencies to maintain heightened alertness, particularly in sensitive border areas like Indora and Nurpur. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu later updated the Governor on the security protocols being implemented in collaboration with the central government.
